I see your point: standalone Behavioral Science teams are vulnerable and often depend on the right champions within an organization. Integrating behavioral insights into daily processes and decision-making seems like a more sustainable path. But it’s not without risk, preading knowledge can lead to dilution and, eventually, a quiet disappearance.
What does seem powerful, however, is integration through education, as you suggest. A bottom-up approach that is practical and directly applied within specific areas of expertise. I’m currently doing this for change management, and I see how valuable it is, not just providing insights but teaching people how to apply them in their work.
Perhaps the key is to keep investing on all fronts: driving invisible integration while ensuring that Behavioral Science remains visible and impactful within organizations.
